Stopped in after a night at the Doyle for a takeout breakfast sandwich before hiking for the day. Great bacon eggs and cheese on an English muffin. Good coffee and great people.

Visited Duncannon as a hiker, which often gives mixed results, even in a hiker town. Love their home style breakfasts. Enjoyed the counter fir meeting locals while dining. The booths were comfortable engaging other hiker friends. There's plenty of seating, even for private conversations. Once the staff warms up to you...its just like being home. That's a nice feeling, when you actually live several hundred miles away. This is definitely my kind of place.

So I travel from Connecticut 4 hours to get there by 8:00 to pick up some parts nearby for my SAAB... I won't get into my SAAB story but I was super hungry. I was getting gas when I asked this cute redhead where I could get some breakfast. She like you got to go to GOODIES... Off I went. I tried the scrapple since it was something I never had. Sparks said try it with horse radish and also try it with syrup. I enjoyed it liking it better with syrup being it was breakfast time. The coffee came hot with plenty of refills and the #5 special was just right. Great service and friendly the locals and hikers all got special treatment including me with my SAAB story.

We have been to Goodies a number of times over the last few years and have never had a bad breakfast there. Goodie's is just a few miles from out Summer place and since they are only open until 11:00am it is a great place for us to go for breakfast .
